Plan of the Day
Setting reasonable goals and expectations for the day, and then prioritizing them will help students better manage their time. Making a list creates explicitness so that students can answer the question "What's next". Students continue to need support from parents, teachers, and other influences to determine what is a priority and what can wait. Using this form as a tool to do just that can support a student as they grow toward independence,
Step 1: List out all the tasks you think need to be completed today. Really think "Do I need to do this today?"
Step 2: Prioritize the list. Rank the tasks in order of importance. If I have something due before lunch it will probably be one of the first things I do.
Step 3: Start with task #1 and work your way down. Mark when you have completed the task. It is rewarding to check things off.
